What Can You Create with Metal Laser Engraving?

Build a product collection around the moments, industries and people your customers care about. Explore these ideas for adding metal engraving, marking and personalization to your business.

Stainless Steel Personalization

Stainless Steel Laser Engraving Machines for Personalization

A favorite saying on a coffee tumbler. A handwritten message on a keepsake. A wedding date remembered every time a gift is used. Personalizing stainless steel turns familiar products into something that belongs to one person—and means something to them.

For your business, those personal touches create opportunities across celebrations, corporate gifting, customer appreciation and everyday purchases. Offer individual designs or coordinated collections that customers can give to a family, wedding party or team.

AP Lazer’s MOPA fiber technology lets you engrave and mark stainless steel directly. Combined with CO₂ in a dual laser system, it also opens the door to complementary products: an engraved wooden gift box, an acrylic display or a matching glass keepsake.

Start with a metal product. Build an entire personalized experience around it.

Two sources. One system.

CO₂ + MOPA Fiber Dual Laser Machines: Create Beyond Metal

01 / METAL

MOPA Fiber

Use MOPA Fiber to engrave, mark and etch compatible metals, including stainless steel, aluminum and brass.

02 / BEYOND METAL

CO2 Laser

Use CO₂ to cut and engrave wood and acrylic, engrave glass and process suitable coated surfaces.

More Control over Detail and Contrast

MOPA technology offers adjustable pulse width and frequency, providing additional control over how laser energy interacts with metal. Develop settings around the fine lettering, artwork and contrast your design needs.

Personalized Products That Work Together

Carry one design across a collection. Pair a metal keepsake with an engraved wooden box, combine a metal award plate with an acrylic display, or create coordinated gifts in several materials.

Offer customers a complete presentation while giving your business more opportunities within each order.

Flexible Access for Different Product Shapes

AP Lazer’s open-architecture design and Low Rider technology help you position bulky and unusually shaped objects beneath the laser.

Object clearance and engraving area are different considerations. The available working area depends on the laser source, optics and machine configuration.

Metal Laser Engraving FAQs

Yes. Fiber lasers can directly engrave, mark and etch compatible bare stainless steel. Suitable applications include drinkware, gifts, identification, decorative components and industrial marking. The product’s finish, shape and your desired result determine the appropriate settings and setup.

A dual laser system lets you personalize metal and work with a broader range of materials. Use MOPA Fiber for compatible metal engraving, marking and etching applications and CO₂ for applications such as cutting and engraving wood and acrylic or engraving glass.

This supports coordinated gifts, mixed-material products and a broader range of customer applications.

A suitably configured dual laser system offers different processing options for bare metal and coated surfaces. MOPA Fiber can directly process bare stainless steel, while CO₂ can remove suitable coatings to reveal a design.

Fiber lasers can directly process compatible bare metals without a marking compound. CO₂ marking on selected bare metals generally requires a compatible compound.

Suitable coated and anodized surfaces may be processed without one, depending on the application.

Suitable cylindrical products can be personalized with a compatible rotary attachment. Product shape, dimensions and the desired engraving location determine the setup.

The systems featured here focus on metal engraving, marking and etching. Use prepared metal blanks for signs, jewelry and decorative projects.

AP Lazer’s CO₂ systems do not cut metal, and production metal cutting requires equipment selected specifically for that purpose.

Start with the products you want to sell, the metals and finishes you will use, and your design dimensions.

If your plans also include wood, acrylic, glass or products that combine materials, explore a CO₂ + MOPA Fiber dual laser system.
